Idli

Idli
Hello everyone and welcome back to the kitchen for cooking lessons with Malaysia Treats! Today we got some more Indian food which is Idli! There are two types of Idli, one of it is soft Idli and one of it is regular Idli. I hope you'll gather all these cooking steps to your mind and start making yourself some Idli! (Read below for the recipe:).

Ingredients:

  • 1/2kg boiled Indian rice (boiled for 3 hours and been drained)
  • 100kg normal rice (boiled for 3 hours and been drained)
  • 250gm vigna mungo (white Dal)
  • 750ml water (separate to equal fractions, 1 portion is 250ml
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. First put the boiled Indian rice into a container fill with 1 portion of the water -- that is 250ml of water. Break it till smooth. Put aside.
  2. Now get the normal rice and do the same thing another portion (250ml Put it aside.
  3. Now you must also do the same with the vigna mungo with the last 250ml portion of water and also put it aside.
  4. After that, get all three items that we had broke and place them in the same 1 same bowl and add salt to your taste.
  5. Stir well. Now after that, you can now steam it for 30 - 40 minutes.
  6. Once it is done, you can now serve it.

Okay now, we had made ourselves some Idli. Remember, you can either make yourself some regular Idli or you can make soft Idli.
