Sambal Kicap

Sambal Kicap

Hello everyone and today we got something else spicy than Sambal Belacan and that is Sambal Kicap. No other sambal is a has kicap as this one. Sambal Kicap has the taste of sambal so it's pretty spicy but in the other hand it also has kicap Malay word for soy sauce. So I hope you enjoy this wonderful delight that we had brought you so enjoy!

Ingredients:

  •  2 garlic (peeled)
  • Chili Api (about 25 or more, stem plucked)
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 a spoon salt
  • Soy sauce

Method:

  1. First you need to crush the garlic and chili api using a mortar and pestle. This may take some time, so be patient.
  2. After the crushing mayhem, you can now add in the 3 tablespoons of sugar. Crush that first, then the salt. The reason why we put in a half is because the soy sauce is already kind of salty. If not the recipe will be to salty.
  3. Last but not least, add in the soy sauce. This does not really requires crushing. This is also a cousin of Sambal Belacan but much more simpler and watery.

Wasn't that a simple sambal? I hope that now you know how to cook some Sambal Kicap since you had read the recipe.
