Potato Masala |
Hello everyone and welcome back to the cooking class back here in Malaysia Treats! Today we have some traditional Indian food which involves potatoes and some other stuff. What is it called, you asked? Well the answer of your question is Potato Masala. Please do not get mixed of Masala as masak lah! It's pronounced Masala! So I hope that you enjoy the recipe of Potato Masala!
Ingredients:
- 10 potatoes (boiled without skin and mashed)
- 1 tablespoon vinga mungo (white kacang Dal)
- 4 garlic
- 2 tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- cumin
- 2 pieces curry leaves
- 2 red chili (sliced)
- 3 tablespoons cooking oil
- 500ml water
- First you need to grind the garlic and the tomatoes separately.
- Heat up the oil in the pan and stir fry the garlic until the smell risen. Then add in the vigna mungo, mustard and cumin.
- Put in the potatoes, tomatoes and curry leaves and stir. Stir well.
- Now you can add in the salt to your taste and stir until the gravy is thick.
- Lastly, put it inside a bowl. Garnish the potato masala using the red chili and it is best served with bread and/or papedom.
